ISTE Live 2025 & Google for Education Updates!
Last week we attended ISTE Live 2025 in San Antonio, Texas! ISTE Live is the annual Ed Tech conference in the USA filled with new names, new tools, and big announcements. Over 16,000 people attend from all over the world!

Here are our top 10 updates from the recent announcement 🎉
1. Gemini & Google Classroom
Teachers can now access more than 30 AI tools at no extra cost directly within Google Classroom, empowering them to create content and resources with ease.

2. Gemini is now available for all ages!
All students can now access Gemini once it has been turned on in the Admin Console. Learn more here.
3. Gemini prompts and Gem sharing (Available globally in the coming months for users 18+)
Soon you will be able to share Gems that you have made with your colleagues!
4. NotebookLM – Expanding access to students of all ages! (Available globally in the coming months)
NotebookLM will soon be available to students of all ages, providing a powerful resource for deepening understanding and crafting study guides. Learn more here.
5. Google Vids: Now available for all users
Google Vids is now available for all GWfE users! Vids is a collaborative video creation app that makes it easy to create engaging videos. Users will also find easy-to-use templates, and a robust content library filled with high-quality stock content including GIFs, stickers, images, videos, music, and sound effects.
6. Better visual aids in Gemini responses (Available globally in the coming weeks)
Gemini now includes interactive diagrams and visuals directly in its responses, helping learners visualise and understand new concepts. Learn more here.
7. Gemini Live (Available globally for users 18+)
Download the Gemini app to get started! Use Live to start conversations for brainstorming ideas, ask questions and get real-time, tailored guidance to help with your understanding and creativity. Learn more here.
The following 3 new releases are available for Google AI Pro for Education users only (formerly Gemini Education add-ons).
8. Veo 3 in Google Vids
Quickly create 8-second videos, complete with speaking characters and immersive sound effects, to enhance lessons and bring ideas to life. Learn more here.
9. Gemini in Forms (Available globally in English for users 18+)
Quickly create assessments and surveys with Gemini in Forms. Generate a form based on a Google Doc or a Slides deck from your Drive and use Gemini to summarise form Responses. Learn more here.
10. Suggested feedback for writing assignments (Piloting soon; will be available globally in English)
Empower teachers to deliver impactful suggested feedback faster with “glow and grow” comments for student writing in Google Docs, seamlessly integrated into the Google Classroom grading workflow.
