Innovator Academy Dates Announced
Big news! Google has released the dates for the 2024 Google Certified Innovator Academies.
The Google Certified Innovator program has been around since 2006 and has welcomed just under 2000 educators into the community. This group of passionate educators from all over the world has inspired countless new ideas, programs, school initiatives and more.
At each academy educators created projects to solve a challenge, networked with like minded passionate educators and learned more about how to effectively use Google Workspace tools to engage and inspire students and colleagues. At Deploy Learning, we have found our experience at the academy to be career changing while remaining one of the best professional development events that we’ve ever attended.
After several years of the academy taking place online, Google has announced the return of face-to-face events. This year the academies will take place in the following countries:
The Innovator program focuses on the below 3 areas:
There are few requirements that you will need to fulfill before applying. Here is what you need to know:
- Choose an academy that you can attend in person.
- Pass the Google Certified Educator Level 2 exam. We will offer a prep course for the exam.
- Identify a challenge to solve in education – Interview a few people affected by the challenge. Then, film a 90-second video about that challenge and why you want to solve it.
- Review the scoring rubric and then submit your application before the deadline.
The Application windows for some of the academies are already open. The application for the Academy in Seoul opens on March 1st. Click here for more information.
