AI Educator Tips
It seems like everywhere we go, we can’t avoid a discussion or see a post online about AI. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but I’m sure we’ll all agree that there’s a lot of AI noise around at the moment. Everyone has a new tool to share, a new example of something cool they saw on social media, or a link to some exciting future innovations.
To help you navigate this, we wanted to narrow down some different AI tools for educators.
During the recent Melbourne Summit (Google Summit Series by Deploy Learning: Melbourne) we asked the presenters to share some of their top AI tips and what they’ll be using in 2025.
Check out the different tools they’ll be exploring in the classroom this year.
What AI tools will you be exploring this year?
No matter the tool, it’s important to focus on the outcomes for your students.
Here are some tips for using any new tool at your school.
- Purpose – Why do you need to use this tool? Focus on the specific outcomes for you and your students.
- Privacy – Where will the data be stored? Remember to always check the privacy policy and consider how user data will be used and stored.
- Provide clear instructions – How will staff and students use the tool? Consider access and training.
- Paid or free tools – How much will this tool cost? There are many ‘freemium’ tools around so we suggest double checking the free and paid versions before introducing the tool to staff and students.
