Google Summits are back!
Back in 2012, we helped launch the very first Google Summit in Santa Clara, California…just down the road from Google’s Headquarters in Mountain View. Based on the idea of the Google Certified Innovator Academy, a small group of educators created an event that brought Googlers (people that work at Google) and educators together to share information about Google products and how they could be used in the classroom. Most importantly, we brought the energy and excitement of finding your community to teachers all across the world.
For years, we have designed teacher events around the world. Each event has been an opportunity to connect like minded people with ed tech experts from near and far. Today, we are working to reimagine the Summits experience in a world where getting together takes a little more convincing. After a few years apart, we are designing an event where you can get back together with old friends and make some new ones. Most of all, we excited to get back to learning together.
Our first public, post-COVID event is hosted by Norwood International High School, a co-education secondary school, serving years 7-12. This beautiful school in Adelaide, South Australia underwent substantial redevelopment of almost all buildings in 2021 and included the provision of two new ones. We are excited to partner with the school to showcase how Google’s tools can impact teaching and learning while providing an inspirational setting. We are excited to announce locations for the Melbourne and Sydney Summits very soon.
One of the main focuses of our events in 2024 is the inclusion of multiple access points to generative Artificial Intelligence. It has been a hot topic among educators globally for the last year and the constant updates are challenging for many of us. This is why we are have asked Kimberley Hall of Google for Education Australia to keynote our events this year. Kimberley will walk us through the ways Google is bringing AI to schools and how you can best position your classrooms for it. We will also feature a number of sessions led by expert educators and Googlers using AI that will help you make educated decisions on how to move forward.
We are excited to be working with local vendors to create a Chromebook Classroom so that you can use the devices as a student in sessions designed to take advantage of its versatility. From creativity to productivity, you will see Chromebooks in a whole new way.
Check out the websites for the schedule of sessions that include WeVideo, Texthelp, Google Classroom, Google Drive, the admin console and so much more. We hope that you will come along and share in the learning and hopefully make a few friends.
If you are new to Google Workspace or you have been at it for a while, we know that you will find sessions that will inspire you, educate you and amaze you. If you have questions about the event or about multi-ticket discounts, email us at events@deploylearning.com or visit the details page on our website.
