Google Summit Series by Deploy Learning: Adelaide & Sydney
Over the last year, we have reintroduced Google Summits to Australia with support from the Google for Education team. Recently, during the term break, we led two fantastic events in Adelaide and Sydney. We brought together passionate educators from Independant and department schools for a deep dive into the future of learning with Google! To make the events more accessible to educators, we were able to offer them completely FREE!
At both Summits we were lucky to hear from the fabulous Kimberley Hall from Google for Education Australia. In her Keynote, she shared her personal experiences with technology and some insights and ideas about Google’s Generative AI and the role it plays in the future of education.
Adelaide Highlights: Hosted at Norwood International High School, the sessions were packed with insightful discussions and presentations on the latest Google technologies and innovations. There was a focus on developing essential skills like visual literacy, critical thinking, and digital safety, with an emphasis on supporting diverse learners and empowering educators with leadership strategies and Google certifications. Sydney Highlights: Hosted at Inaburra School in outer Sydney, this event offered a wide array of sessions for educators, covering topics like new Google tools, inclusive technology and leadership skills. There was a focus on empowering teachers and supporting diverse learners through sessions on personalised learning, formative assessment, and accessibility. From inspiring keynotes to hands-on workshops, these Google Summits provide a platform for attendees to expand their knowledge and skill sets, network with other educators in the region, and gain valuable insights into the future of how to use technology to amplify lessons. Feedback from both events was overwhelmingly positive. Workshop scores were high, and many attendees left positive comments about the sessions and the presenters.
The attendees appreciated the overall experience, mentioning they learned something in every session or enjoyed the networking opportunities.
