Writing Prompts: Gen AI with Gemini
Earlier in the year, we heard from lots of educators about how they were using Gemini and AI in the classroom. It’s a very exciting space to be working in and we’re sure there will be many more updates this term. This is a fast moving space and it can be hard to keep up with. Only a few months ago, this was multimodal AI…now with the launch of Project Astra, this is what it looks like!
For now, a key to making Generative AI useful is the ability to craft prompts. This video shared at Google I/O makes that clear. 🙂
It is important to know that there is way more than cats images available. Here are some of our top prompts you could ask Geminito help get you through Term 2.
- Brainstorming – Give me 5 engaging lesson ideas for teaching about [topic] to a class of [age group]
- Comprehension and critical thinking – Generate 10 open-ended questions about the book [title] with varied difficulty levels
- Creating rubrics – Develop a rubric for assessing student presentations on [topic]
- Research and summarisation: Summarise the key points of this article [link] in a way that is understandable for [age group]
- Creative writing – Give me 3 story prompts related to [historical period/scientific concept]
- Research projects – Find 3 reputable sources of information on [topic]
- Lesson planning – Outline a lesson plan for teaching [topic] that includes activities, assessments, and differentiation strategies
- Grading and feedback – Generate multiple-choice questions for a quiz on [topic]
